In addition, a broad range of internships and funded community involvement projects add to students? capacity to become the effective artists, leaders and citizens of tomorrow. Upon graduation from the B.F.A. program, students are prepared to enter their chosen art discipline at a professional level. A high percentage of art graduates have obtained excellent positions in their field.
Through a broad, competence-building sequence of core courses, students are introduced to the language of several disciplines, various materials and techniques. They study the fundamentals of studio art along with a wide variety of skills including visual communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, oral communication and project development. In addition, they learn how to constantly adapt to new technology.
