• Master of Science in Statistics at the University of California Los Angeles is a 2 years program.
  • It is an on-campus, day-time program offered only on a full-time basis.
  • The department offers three graduate programs: PhD program, MSc program, and Master of Applied Statistics (MAS) program.
  • The purpose of the master’s program is to further develop knowledge and skills in Statistics and to prepare students for a professional career or doctoral studies. 
  • The study areas of the program are:
    • Applied multivariate analysis
    • Bioinformatics (Center for Statistical Research in Computational Biology)
    • computational and computer-intensive statistics
    • Social statistics
    • Experimental design
    • Environmental statistics.
  • Students have to complete 44 units of course work for the MSc degree, of which at least 32 units must be graduate courses, while the remaining 12 units may be approved upper-division courses.
  • All courses must be passed by students with a grade of B or better and students must maintain an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better. 
  • Students are expected to complete the requirements for the MSc degree in 6 quarters of full-time study.
  • Research at UCLA Statistics is organized into six centers. 
  • The UCLA departments organize many different types of seminars related to the Statistics program for the enrollment of the students to increase their skills.
