• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of California Los Angeles is a 4 years program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
  • This program is a broad-based education in structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, and environmental engineering.
  • The objective of the program is to give graduating seniors an academically sound and practical background in civil engineering.
  • The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department consists of five sub-disciplines:
    • Civil Engineering Materials
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Geotechnical EngineeringHydrology and Water Resources Engineering
    • Structures (Structural Mechanics and Earthquake Engineering)
  • The civil engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
  • The Civil Engineering major is a designated capstone major.
  • In each of the major field design courses, students work individually and in groups to complete design projects.
  • In completing their projects, students are also expected to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, as well as their ability to work productively with others as part of a team.
  • This program is an excellent foundation for entry into professional practice in civil engineering or for more advanced study.
  • The departments consist of 21 faculty members, 20 research labs and centers, and 319 undergraduate students.
