Nursing faculty embrace the mission of Madonna University and commit to assisting students to develop Christian humanistic values, a spirit of intellectual inquiry, openness to discovery of truth, and readiness to serve others.The traditional BSN program is offered to eligible students without an RN license. Traditional Madonna University students, who begin their education at Madonna University, transfer students from other academic institutions, and high school graduates are able to embark on this educational path.The Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is awarded to students who successfully complete the required curriculum. The curriculum includes 53 cr. in the nursing major and 72 cr. of prerequisite and general education courses offered by other departments. A student entering Madonna University has the opportunity to complete the 125 cr., required for the BSN degree, in four years.Graduates of the Madonna University program are prepared to apply for licensure as a registered nurse and take the national licensing examination; the NCLEX-RN.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing provides many career opportunities for the Madonna University graduate. At the completion of the traditional, pre-licensure BSN educational program and the accelerated BSN educational program, graduate nurses are ready to practice as a generalist in an entry level position. Graduates seek employment in a variety of complex health care systems. Settings include hospitals, physician?s offices, home health care, and extended care facilities. Novice nurses practice the holistic art and science of nursing as hands-on health professionals with individuals, families, communities, and populations across the lifespan.
