Educated in History, Political Science, Anthropology, or Public History, a person is trained to see the big picture, gather facts, and make a reasonable, articulate argument.

Students in the Department of History and Social Sciences develop the skill sets necessary to see the big picture, focus on a specific point, and make a clear, rational argument. These are skills that are valued by all employers. Graduates from the Department have gone on to grad school, law school, and seminary as well as high school teaching. Our students work in Education, publishing, the law, finance, and veterinary medicine. What can you do with a History Degree? Anything you want to.

In the College of Liberal Arts, which is comprised of the Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Languages and Literature, Department of Behavioral Sciences, and the Department of History and Social Sciences, our students express their creativity through art, music, and theatre; they study the complex and fascinating story of human history
