The College offers undergraduate programs leading to a bachelor of science in education and human sciences degree in more than 40 different teaching endorsements. Some students in other UNL colleges choose to seek certification, completing a degree in their home college while meeting all requirements for teacher certification in the College of Education and Human Sciences.

Majors in Social Science Education (7-12) will be able to:

  • Make content knowledge accessible to students.
  • Create, implement and assess instructional and curricular goals.
  • Create and maintain a respectful and productive classroom learning environment.
  • Integrate technology to enhance learning.
  • Deliver instruction that is considerate of student development, diversity, and special needs.
  • Apply theory and research in social sciences education to classroom practices.
  • Teach effectively each of the seven social science fields including in an interdisciplinary manner.
