Southeastern?s 60 credit hour Master of Science in Professional Counseling will train you to provide this higher degree of service. During your weekly evening courses, you will study the history and theories of diverse psychotherapies and the latest developments in mental health skills and strategies, all through the lens of a Christian worldview.?You will learn to collaborate with other health care professionals as well as pastors. Additionally, you will gain valuable hands-on experience through your internship, where you?ll begin applying the skills you?re acquiring.?Our professors have?multiple years of clinical experience in various settings, and they use their professional connections to place students in agencies that provide?counseling services within central Florida and beyond.

Our graduate students and alumni have served in private practices, rape and recovery centers, parachurch ministries, mental health facilities and agencies affiliated with the United Way. When you graduate from SEU with your Master of Science in Professional Counseling, you will be prepared to successfully navigate your two years of supervised, postmaster?s degree clinical experience. This is?required by the state of Florida along?with successful completion of the licensing examination to qualify as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
