The department views leaders as stewards and servants of organizations, designers of the social and cultural climate in which they work, teachers who facilitate and encourage human growth and development, change agents who continually examine the purpose and performance of their organizations, and conceptual provocateurs who challenge ideas and assumptions on which policy and practice are built.

The Leadership Studies promotes college student leadership education by preparing undergraduate students for and about leadership on campus and in our community, with a goal of preparing?students to serve confidently, collaboratively, and ethically in formal and informal leadership roles in campus, local, national, and global contexts. Students may choose to take one course or pursue an academic leadership studies minor or its honors equivalent.
