As an interpersonal communication student at WMU, you will study interpersonal communication, communication theory, communication research, group communication, nonverbal communication, family communication, communication ethics, female and male interaction, health communication, attitude change, group problem solving and public speaking. You will also learn how to market yourself through networking, cover letters, resumes and portfolios.

If you choose this major, you will have networking and professional development opportunities available to you through volunteering, internships, and other career-specific experiences such as contributing to the Western Herald student newspaper or WIDR radio station, or joining Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society or Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society.
