The goal of the program is to develop familiarity and utilization of a variety of laboratory techniques, working with organisms ranging from microbes to mammals.
Students learn to understand the ethical codes of conduct in scientific research, including academic and social ethics.
Students develop to acknowledge, understand, and appreciate the ethical and moral implications of biological research.
Students learn to have knowledge of the continuous research and advancements being made in various areas of the biological sciences.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have passed high school with good grades
Students are required to have the following academic units:
- Four years of English
- Three years of college-prep math
- Two years of history; three total social sciences,
- Two years of a foreign language
- Three years of science, with at least two years of lab science
- At least three additional units in any combination of the subject areas listed above

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

In lieu of a TOEFL or IELTS score, students may use SAT or ACT test scores to satisfy the English Language Requirement (SAT 510 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Section or ACT English & Writing with a minimum score of 19 in each section)

Resume: It is the outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
Three Letter of Recommendation: Letter of recommendation which includes information about the student, their connection with the person they are recommending, their qualification, and the specific skills they have.
Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
Personal History Statement: It describes how their background, accomplishments, and life experiences led to their decision to pursue the graduate degree they are applying for.
College Transcripts: The marks statement provided by the education board after completion of the previous academic qualifications.
Personal Video: Students may upload a 1-3 minute personal video in the application's Audio/Visual uploads section.
Interview and Writing Test: After applying, students may be required to complete an interview and/or writing test.
ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.

The students who wish to study in the USA at the University of California Berkeley require F and J visa. There are a variety of visa classifications other than F or J that allow school attendance in the USA. Students have two statuses: Dependent Status and Independent Status.

Dependent Status: Students who hold a dependent status are in the U.S. with parents or their spouse and their immigration status depends on this relationship and it is valid until the age of 21. If students hold a dependent-child status and will turn 21 within the next six months to a year, they may need to change their status.
