So if you?re ready to take the next step in your career, consider our master?s degree program, which is designed for individuals with an undergraduate degree and initial teaching certification in physical education. After completing the program you?ll be eligible for New York State professional certification.
For individuals who hold a teaching certificate in physical education, the master's program requires just 30 credit hours of graduate coursework, usually taken over two semesters and one summer. In order to let you match your program of study to your interests and aspirations, our program offers either a thesis or non-thesis option. For both options the curriculum includes field classes on topics such as research methods, curriculum design and analysis, and teaching strategies. You can choose from seminars on grant writing, the war on drugs, human sexuality, and contemporary topics in sport.
