The Department of Computer, Information and Leadership Technology offers programs designed to provide an applications-oriented, practical education that prepares students for careers as systems analysts (people who design, install, and evaluate information systems); commercial and technical programmer/analysts (people who design, write, and maintain programs for a variety of applications); and network systems specialists (people who select, specify, and maintain the networking needs of a company).
The mission of the Computer and Information Technology Program is to assure that our students and graduates have a strong work ethic with the highest level of ethical behavior, commitment to their community, employer, and profession, and a dedication to life-long learning.
This will be accomplished by:
- Delivering a market-driven curriculum that meets the needs of undergraduate and graduate students and employers
- Performing the highest quality teaching, scholarship, and research with up-to-date techniques and facilities
- Engaging students in active learning and critical thinking
- Mentoring students in research, international programs, service, and experiential learning
