This non-thesis program includes a 12-hour core in Mathematics, 9 elective hours of approved graduate Mathematics courses, a 3-hour directed reading and research course which includes a written report on the research, and a 12-hour minor in an approved field.

The university has an enrollment of approximately 20,000 taught by more than 700 full-time faculty. 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 31 tenured, tenure track and visiting faculty in mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics. The BA, BS, MA, and MS degrees are offered in Mathematics.  The MS degree is offered in Statistics, along with Statistics minors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
