Applying math to industrial processes and technological development is in growing demand throughout the industrial marketplace, from pharmaceutical companies to aerospace engineering firms.

At Stevens, an intimate understanding of other disciplines is intrinsic to success in applied mathematics. Graduate students choose a specialty and are encouraged to explore courses in other departments including Stevens renowned offerings in engineering and science. Four classes towards the Master of Science are free electives, selected in cooperation with an adviser. Students' projects and research can make a difference in the world by developing more efficient systems for manufacturing, computational analysis or human organization in research, business and government.
