Starting the sophomore year onward, the nationally accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education [CAATE) Athletic Training Program prepares students for the Board of Certification exam, the gateway to a successful career as an athletic trainer. In addition, students gain valuable hands-on experience in our facilities on and off campus through practicums with FHSU Athletics, area high schools and the Hays Medical community.  If you pursue a degree in Athletic Training, you will develop competencies (knowledge and skills) in the five domains of athletic training defined by the Board of Certification (BOC) Role Delineation Study and upon graduation, you will be eligible for certification by the BOC and licensure by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
