Our master of education in teaching and learning program prepares you to be a more effective teacher and a leader in Christian education. You?ll build a solid foundation in the various theories of education and take a look at the history of the American system of education so you can understand where your teaching fits into the bigger picture.

The 30-credit program prepares you to be more effective in the classroom. You will design research-based instruction, present that instruction and assess student learning outcomes based on that instruction. You will also learn how to create effective lessons using 21st century technologies, examine and analyze current educational research, and apply original research to their teaching disciplines. All courses are taught by professors with many years of teaching experience in Christian and public schools.

In addition, you?ll explore hot topics in education, such as the changing structure and demographics of American families, child abuse, and bullying. You?ll learn about the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC), and their standards in content knowledge, instructional practice and more.

You?ll learn how to construct effective tests and use normal probability curves and graphs to interpret the statistics of test results. And in many of the courses, you?ll discuss educational issues with knowledgeable faculty and interact with your peers from around the world. We have had candidates recently from South Korea, the Philippines, Guam, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and across the continental United States.
