The program from Adelphi University is designed to prepare students for graduate school in speech-language pathology, audiology, and speech and hearing science. In addition to preparing students for graduate education in audiology and speech-language pathology, a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders can lead to careers in a variety of other fields such as health care, education, science and public policy.
- The undergraduate program meets the core requirements for admission to graduate school.
- Courses fulfill certain academic and practicum requirements for clinical certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Students may select additional courses leading to New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). However, student teaching is required for certification and is offered only at the graduate level.
