While all bachelor programs require a minimum of 128 credits and a 2.00 cumulative GPA, the NJ Department of Education requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be certified. Students in this concentration must complete a POLS major with accompanying EDUC courses as shown. Student must have 30 credits in a social studies major area including 12 credits at the upper level and 15 HIST credits including an American and World History course. Social Studies includes American history, European history, world history, government, political science, sociology, geography, anthropology, and economics. A grade of C or better is required in all content field courses and B- or better in all Teacher Education Program coursework.
