The undergraduate electrical engineering program introduces students to this complex field while inspiring the desire to continue learning new concepts and ideas. The first two years of the program provide a firm foundation in mathematics, natural science, basic engineering analysis and design, and an appreciation for the humanities and social sciences.
The technical part of the first two years provides instruction in the C++ programming language, electric circuit analysis, computer aided design and simulation, and the logical design of digital circuits. Laboratories emphasize the use of computers and the basic instrumentation common to the profession. The last two years of the program are project oriented. Students are assigned open-ended projects requiring invention and design to meet specifications. Many students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with professors.
