The BSBA degree is a good choice if you are interested in a career in business, since coursework focuses on topics such as accounting, finance and capital budgeting, in addition to economics coursework. The additional experience and expertise can make you more marketable after graduation than students who pursue a more traditional economics degree, and the program makes it easy to double major in another business field of your choice. The BA in economics is a logical major or second major for students interested in law school or select business fields.?
If you are interested in attending graduate school for economics or want to be an economist, you may want to consider the quantitative economics program. This program was developed with the department of mathematics and computer science, and students take approximately half math and half economics courses to complete the degree.
Students in the CBPA are encouraged to hold internships and participate in networking events throughout their college career. Drake offers many tools to students to help them find ? and obtain ? internships and jobs, including a dedicated career counselor within CBPA who can help with resume-building and interviewing skills. Each year, the CBPA hosts an annual career fair, which brings major employers to Drake?s campus to meet with students.
