• UC Davis biological sciences graduates find they are well prepared to apply to graduate and professional schools in the biological and health sciences and to enter careers in fields such as industrial research and development, field studies and lab work. Potential employers include the private sector and government agencies involved in basic biology, the environment and agriculture.
  • Students will begin their studies with foundation courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The broad nature of the major allows students to take upper-division coursework in many different aspects of the biological sciences, such as molecular biology and genetics, animal behavior, plant growth and development, bioinformatics, marine biology, forensics, and microbiology. Candidates for the bachelor of arts will also study the history and philosophy of biological science and the diversity of the animal, plant and microbial kingdoms.
