Students in the BFA Acting Program enjoy the luxury of a low student/teacher ration: an average of 10 students to each faculty member; are not competing against other students for stage roles or classes. The Department does not have an MFA graduate program and thus focuses all of its energies on its undergaduate students; take classes in acting, voice/speech, movement, dance and singing every semester from some of the best teachers in the country.

The Acting program is arranged in a highly competitive conservatory format that assures students of intensive classes in acting, voice/speech, movement, singing, and dance. The Department’s goal is to prepare performers for the professional world and acquaint students with as many specialized skills as possible. To achieve this goal, the Department provides a first-rate faculty who continue to work in the professional theatre and also brings in guest artists and directors. Students are exposed to a wide ranging repertoire of plays both in the classroom and during our production season.
