Graduates of Ohio Dominican University?s Integrated Language Arts Education program will be able to:
- Demonstrate and employ a wide variety of critical reading and writing strategies to communicate effectively with diverse audiences for diverse purposes.
- Conduct research using a variety of research methods, technological and information resources to gather, summarize, synthesize, evaluate, create and communicate knowledge.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English style and usage.
- Demonstrate and apply knowledge of language structure, conventions, media techniques, figurative language, and genre to create, critique, and discuss print and non-print texts.
- Demonstrate oral communication skills.
- Develop a respect for the written word and its relationship to personal values, critical thinking, critical inquiry and professional development.
- Recognize the importance of the written word, particularly its reflective, creative, critical and professional qualities.
