The Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (M. Eng.) degree consists of 30 credit hours of graded coursework from the College of Engineering or the College of Science. A minimum of 24 classroom hours in Mechanical Engineering is needed. Three hours of MEEN 684 or MEEN 685 may be used if desired. Classroom courses must include MEEN 602 — Modeling and Analysis of Mechanical Systems and 21 MEEN classes. Of the remaining two elective courses, students may select from MEEN 684 or 685 or any other courses in The College of Engineering or The College of Science.

Students will prepare a portfolio for assessment. The portfolio will be compiled over the student’s course of study at Texas A&M University. In general, the portfolio will consist of graded materials from classes or research activity that can be evaluated and assessed against the five educational outcomes. The portfolio should be contained in a 3 ring binder or similar.
