Anthropology majors may select a minor field of study by completing 15-18 hours of courses in another department or program with a grade of “C” or higher. University Core Curriculum requirements must be satisfied with courses other than those offered in anthropology.This curriculum overview is not to replace the degree plan given in a student’s Undergraduate Catalog. Student’s are to meet the requirements for the Anthropology curriculum given in their respective catalog in order to earn a BA in Anthropology.
The department currently has 26 full-time faculty who offer approximately 120 different courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Faculty are affiliated with four different subfields or “programs”: archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and nautical archaeology.
The department offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level. The department also offers a minor in Anthropology, and an interdisciplinary minor in Museum Studies.
