The College offers 13 degree programs that equip students with the technical and management skills needed to launch careers in fields such as public management, planning, public safety, historic preservation, environmental studies, economic development, and housing. Degree completion programs are available for community college transfer students with A.A., A.A.S., or A.A.B. degrees in human services, health sciences, paralegal studies, police science, emergency management, or fire science.
Public Safety Management MajorThe Public Safety Management Major is designed to:
- Provide management and communications skills needed for leadership roles in public safety organizations.
- Allow for in-depth study of community safety needs and introduce analytical tools for addressing issues and problems.
- Prepare students for future career challenges in public safety services.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the public safety management program work in law enforcement, fire service, emergency management, and emergency preparedness at the local, state, and federal level. They seek positions with federal law enforcement agencies or with local or state probation and parole agencies.
A major in Public Safety Management is good preparation for law school or for graduate study in Public Administration.

The required public safety internship gives students practical experience in settings designed to complement their degree program.
