• In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, students' mathematics degree coursework will teach them fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing them for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.
  • As a mathematics degree student, students will choose one of the following seven concentrations:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Applied and Computational Mathematics
    • Financial Mathematics
    • Pure Mathematics
    • Quantitative Analysis and Operations Research
    • Statistics
  • The Applied and Computational Mathematics concentration is intended for students seeking a career as quantitative analysts, computational scientists, or applied mathematicians, or for those planning to continue the study of applied mathematics at the doctoral level.
  • Students pursuing this concentration are exposed to a variety of mathematical methods, models, and computational tools that find use in science, engineering, business, computer science, and industry.
