The curriculum is individualized in recognition of the diverse backgrounds and interests of students and the broad scope of the discipline of pharmacology.The department offers a variety of research areas including:

  • Receptors and signal transduction
  • Ion channels
  • Neuropharmacology
  • Cancer pharmacology
  • Gene therapy
  • Pharmacology of alcohol and drugs of abuse

The student is expected to begin independent research early in his or her training and to participate in an intensive program of research seminars. Close personal contact between preceptor and trainee is encouraged.
