Give students in grades 5-8 the tools to become successful lifelong learners and citizens.
In our middle school education program, you?ll study adolescent development from physical, cultural, and psychological perspectives. Examine learning through a social justice lens as you develop an appreciation of how schools can best serve the needs of this unique age group.
You?ll explore project-based methods for making learning meaningful. Investigate ways to close the achievement gap. Explore tools for supporting students with disabilities and ways to assess student success. Develop a teaching style that promotes creativity and encourages all students to have a voice. Through student teaching, get out into middle school classrooms, where you?ll have the chance to flex and refine your skills. You'll graduate knowing that you have the degree you need to land the career you're passionate about. That's because employers in Massachusetts prefer to hire Lesley graduates, saying that they are best prepared to enter the classroom on day one.
