Whether you choose to focus on fiction, nonfiction, poetry, scriptwriting, or writing for children and young adults, as a creative writing major at Lesley you?ll gain the tools, support, and experience to bring your vision to the world.

Here, you?ll hone your critical and creative skills. With an average class size of 15 students, your voice will be heard and your words will be read. Share your work in a supportive atmosphere in which you?ll receive, and give, critiques and insights that move writing forward. Workshops with your professors, and visiting authors, will push you to elevate your craft and delve deeper into your genre.

  • Students will study classic and contemporary masterworks of English and American Literature in order to be able to describe and apply the conventions of writing in multiple genres
  • Students will read works and write at an advanced level in a chosen genre
