• The graduate program in Economics at MIT has grown to its present size of 123 full-time students and 42 faculty members. Its major emphasis is the training of doctoral candidates in a broad program of advanced study and research for professional careers in universities, government, or colleges, public and private research and consulting organizations, and financial institutions, and other private businesses.
