The Administrative Program for Principals at Cal U provides you with a unique and challenging opportunity to obtain a master's degree in education and/or certification as a K-12 school principal.Approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, this 100% online program meets state educational requirements for certification as a principal. The program complies with Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards, and may be used to meet certification and professional development requirements in other states.
This ADP program is designed not only for degree and certification candidates, but also for both teachers and administrators who, as seasoned educators, wish to continue to enhance their teaching and leadership skills. All coursework can be used to complete continuing education requirements under Act 48.
Program Options:
1. ADP Master's plus Certification:
The 30-credit Master of Education degree includes all requirements for certification as a K-12 school principal. If you already have a master's degree, you may complete certification requirements through our K-12 principal certificate program [internal link to 8.3.12 K-12 Principal Certificate] without completing the entire master's program. Instead, you would only need 24 credits.
All students note: Completion of an approved certification program is a requirement for certification in Pennsylvania. In the certification process, the University informs the state that a student has completed the University's state-approved program. The state then reviews the student's credentials and determines eligibility for certification. We encourage all students to contact the Pennsylvania Department of Education before beginning Cal U's program for further information about certification requirements in Pennsylvania.
All students who will be seeking certification outside of Pennsylvania are responsible for securing and folliwing the certification requirements in the state in which they intend to apply for certification.
ADP Certification Only:
If you already hold a master's degree, you may complete certification requirements through our 24-credit K-12 principal certificate program without completing the entire master's program.
