Our undergraduate program focuses on the design, development and rational use of medication for the prevention and treatment of disease, as well as the drug development and research process. Our graduate programs are research-focused that immerse students in diverse aspects of drug action, from drug discovery to various elements of drug evaluation.

The founding principles of pharmaceutical sciences were pioneered here at UB and we have upheld this tradition of excellence and international distinction for over 50 years.

Our programs provide instruction and research training in diverse aspects of drug action including drug discovery and drug evaluation, examined at the molecular, genomic, biochemical, biological, and clinical levels through an interdisciplinary curriculum individualized to the needs of each student. There is an emphasis on clinical and laboratory research focusing on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, dosage form design, physiochemical and biological aspects of drug action, drug metabolism, and drug toxicity.
