Master of Music is a two-year (36-hour) degree, an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
This is a plan to provides advanced study in the concentration of specialization combined with music history, theory, and pedagogy beyond the scope of the undergraduate curriculum.
The Master of Music (MM) program provides graduate-level study in the following concentrations.
- Composition
- Conducting
- Ethnomusicology
- Multiple Instrument Performance
- Music Education
- Performance

Academic Eligibility:

Students must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a recognized international equivalent degree.
An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale.
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree from a recognized institution
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Following are the required document:

Resume which includes educational background and work experience.
Official transcripts from each institution attended (must be submitted directly to UTRGV).
Letter of intent detailing reasons for pursuing the graduate degree.
Three letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources.
Personal interview.
