Exercise Science is a broad based major with two specializations:
- Exercise Programming prepares students for professions such as exercise physiologist, fitness manager, fitness director, strength and conditioning coach, cardiac rehabilitation specialist, or personal trainer. Students may seek careers in a variety of settings such as health and wellness centers, sport medicine clinics, senior/retirement centers, research laboratories, sport and Olympic training facilities, fitness and exercise facilities, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs, and military and federal agencies. Students may also choose to pursue graduate opportunities in the health profession.
- Human Movement prepares students for careers in health sciences (exercise and sport science, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, physical or occupational therapy, or physical education) and kinesiology fields as well as for advanced study in related fields.
