The major in Communication Studies will provide students with a broad-based understanding of the role that communication plays in a number of different professional paths, including healthcare advocacy, negotiation, human resource management, and consumer rights, and many others.
While completing the core courses, students may choose to develop their own program of study, tailoring it to their career goals.
Students may select to choose one of the three tracks of study as Negotiation and Dialogue, Culture and Performance, or Rhetoric and Argumentation.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must have a high school degree from a recognized institution.

Indian Students Eligibility:

Applicants must have passed 12^th grade from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Required Document List

Following are the required Documents:

Resume/CV - This provides a summary of a student's experience and skills.
Transcripts- These are the Unofficial transcript(s) from all institutions that were attended.
Letter of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, etc.

VISA & Work Study

VISA

There are two types of visas students need to plan:

F-1:

If students are requesting an I-20 for an F-1 visa they are required to submit evidence of the availability of funds for their expenses for the first year only, and also indicate the source(s) of funding for subsequent years.
Subsequent years’ funding is indicated by the use of a checkbox on the Rackham Affidavit of Financial Support.

J-1:

If students are requesting a DS-2019 for a J-1 visa they are required to submit evidence of the availability of funds for their expenses for the duration of their program.
Use the estimated expenses to calculate the total amount they need to certify and provide the required proof of funds. Over 50% of funding must come from sources other than personal funds.
