With two productions staged each year on campus and internship opportunities at professional theatres in the Chicagoland area, you?ll build a comprehensive portfolio and gain real-world experience.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre includes:

  • 28 semester hours of required theatre foundation courses and a senior capstone
  • 12 semester hours of elective courses in areas such as acting, directing, stagecraft, history of theatre, playwriting and other special topics that will allow you to personalize the major

Careers

The theatre program at AU prepares students for a wide range of careers in the theatre and arts professions, including as actors, designers, technicians, arts administrators, directors, producers, writers, educators, agents and artists. Students also are prepared to enter graduate school in theatre-related fields.?
