• BSc in Communication Disorders at the Auburn University is a 4 year, 120-credit program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
  • To become nationally certified speech-language pathologists or audiologists, students must earn a graduate degree.
  • The Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree also can be used for employment as a speech-language pathology aide in the public schools of some but not all states.
  • The BS degree, however, is intended for students who are capable of and committed to enrollment in an accredited graduate program in the field.
  • Students enter the Communication Disorders curriculum after achieving junior standing at AUM. Virtually all core curriculum coursework should be completed so that professional education is not interrupted.
  • Students will spend their junior and senior years completing academic coursework in speech-language pathology and audiology and obtaining required clinical training and experience with patients through the Speech and Hearing Center on AUM’s campus.
  • Students will complete approximately 60 hours of supervised experience in speech-language therapy and assessment and treatment of patients with hearing disorders.
