The MEd program focuses on the study of young adolescents and middle grades education (grades 4-8) with special emphasis on:

  • School-university partnerships
  • Diversity
  • Development of positive learning environments
  • Education for students from underserved populations
  • Curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Subject-specific education (i.e. mathematics, science, etc.)
  • Family and community engagement
  • Civic education

  • Middle school policy studies
