US Visa for international Students
Following successful admission to Hampshire College in the United States and payment of the tuition fee, the Multicultural and International Student Services Office (MISS) contacts international students to discuss the next steps for obtaining an F-1 visa to study in the United States. Before an I-20 form can be issued, students must provide the following documents by May 2023:
- International Student Data Form
- Financial Guarantee Form with supporting documentation
- A color photocopy of your passport .
- If you are currently an F-1 student, your SEVIS Transfer-In form must be completed.
An I-20 form is issued after the documents are submitted. Following that, students must pay the SEVIS I-901 fee. You will then receive a postal mailing containing the I-20 Form required for your visa application, visa application guidance, and important pre-arrival information. The processing time for I-20 may take several weeks. The local US embassy will then schedule an interview and may request additional paperwork from the student.
