With a major in English you may work as human resource trainer, technical writer, translator, teacher, literary editor, television scriptwriter, or marketing and advertising professional, or go abroad to teach English to non-native speakers.

If you are a creative writer, you will have the opportunity to take courses in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, playwriting, or multi-genre advanced workshop. You may also choose to go on to graduate study in the humanities or professional programs in law or medicine, or an MFA program in creative writing.
