As a Political Science major, you'll study political behavior, institutions and systems in the U.S. and globally. You'll gain a deep understanding of political, social and economic issues and processes and their interconnectedness locally and globally. The course work emphasizes development of critical and analytical thinking and writing skills, as well as competence in the subject matter.

The Political Science degree program embraces a global, interdisciplinary approach that teaches students the skills needed to work effectively within and across cultural and national boundaries and tackle local and global political challenges. Professional internships, community service projects and research activities round out the program's coursework, connecting the concepts and theories learned in the classroom with their day-to-day application in organizations. Students will complete professional development and professional practicum courses in their senior year. Students who want a practical experience outside of the U.S. can choose an international practicum.
