The program has been designed based on the published NASPE National Standards. Licensed educators may be able to use the sport science program to meet the master/30-hour requirement for the second renewal of their professional licensure. However, these individuals should seek renewal from their local professional development committee.

Many job opportunities exist related to the sport science program. Students often pursue employment opportunities in college coaching, university athletic administration, recreational sport or a continue on in a career in teaching and coaching at the secondary level.

Currently, graduates of the sport science program are assistant or head coaches at various universities and colleges throughout the nation. Graduates have also pursued careers as strength and conditioning coaches and personal trainers.
