The undergraduate program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Undergraduates are required to take two and a half years of mathematics and basic courses in chemistry, geology, and physics. A core of general engineering courses, including introduction to computers for engineers, statics, dynamics, mechanics of solids, basic electrical engineering, thermal science, material science, and fluid mechanics - is followed by more specialized upper -division civil engineering courses. Other engineering courses and technical elective complete the 136 semester-credit degree requirements.
