The Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) is awarded to a candidate, who has obtained Ph.D and has submitted a thesis on the basis of original and independent research in any particular area of law or inter-disciplinary subjects having relevance upon law and that makes a contribution to the advancement of knowledge. The thesis should not be just a compendium of research works in a subject, but should be a narrative of all the research work tied through a theme with an aim to substantially contribute to the academic literature by advancing the knowledge in the subject.
A candidate seeking admission to a higher research degree must have pursued outstanding research in the concerned discipline and has obtained the minimum qualifications necessary for admission as mentioned below:
a) The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. from this University or from any Indian University recognized by the UGC or Foreign University recognized by the UGC;
b) The candidate has completed a period of 3 years from the date of obtaining the Ph.D or the candidate shall have 10 years of Teaching/ Research experience along with a Ph.D. degree.
c) The candidate must have substantial research publications in peer reviewed/ UGC CARE list/ SCOPUS journals and books published by reputed publishers.
The candidates are required to carry out research for a minimum period of three years from the date of registration and submit the final thesis within a maximum period of five years. I
