Himalayan Garhwal University is offering 76 undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and diploma courses.The university offers a wide range of courses available for its students, including B.Com., B.Sc., BA, BJMC, B.Voc., M.A, MJMC, M.Voc, MBA, and Diplomas. The admission forms of the university are released on the official website by the end of March so that students can apply as early as possible.

Any student who wants to be a part of any course in the university needs to consider the following admission procedure. This is followed once the admission forms have been released by the university.

Admission form for application has to be filled in on the official website by all students across various courses.
UG courses and PG courses admission is based on merit entirely.
Students performing well in their 12th examination are offered scholarships as well during admission.
For MBA, students need to clear the Himalayan Garwhal University Entrance Examination or HGUEE.
CAT/MAT scores will also be considered for admission in MBA followed by a group discussion and personal interview.

Himalayan Garhwal University was established in 2016 as a private college and is recognised under the UGC act of 1956. The private institute has been approved by the Uttarakhand educational act along with UGC.

Eligibility criteria for Undergraduate courses

Students applying for UG courses in arts, science or commerce stream should have respective streams only in their 11th and 12th.
A minimum of 45% aggregate in 10+2 examinations is needed to be eligible for the undergraduate degree admissions.
The applicant must be an Indian resident or NRI for seeking admission in HGU.

Selection Criteria for Undergraduate courses

The university conducts its own entrance exam for undergraduate courses which becomes the deciding factor for admission.
Once the results of the entrance exam are out on the university’s website, the next step is to carefully submit the admission form on the website itself.
As soon as the university committee verifies all the admission forms, required documents have to be submitted.
At last, the documents are verified and once the fee is paid, the student is admitted to the opted program.

Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor’s degree in the respective stream is a mandatory option to be eligible for post graduate courses at HGU.
A minimum of 40% aggregate is needed for admission, along with work experience of minimum two years.

Selection Criteria

Performance during undergraduate studies is the primary selection criteria considered by the university admission committee.
Just like the UG courses, a separate entrance exam is held at the HGU campus for the PG courses.

How to apply to HGU?

The first step for application to HGU is filling up the admission form available on the University’s official website that is http://hgu.ac.in/
The application form has to be first filled in online and later on has to be submitted at the university campus as well.
Prescribed format of the form must be followed by every student while applying to any of the courses and the application fee has to be paid after that.
The candidate is considered for provisional admission after the admission form has been completely filled.
The entrance exam for MBA specifically, comes after this which every applying student has to sit through. The scores in the exam will make the student’s admission to the course permanent.
