Application for admission to the Central University of Himachal Pradesh has to be online through https://cuhimachaladmission.samarth.edu.in/.

The Application process involves the following steps:

Step I: Register at the application portal.

Step II: Complete the online application Form with correct details.

Step III: Upload documents as per specification.

Step IV: Preview and edit the application form

Step V: Pay Application Fee using Debit/ Credit cards or Net banking:

Candidate should have passed post graduation or any equivalent

Course Details

CUHP offers the innovative research-oriented Ph.D. degree in several disciplines. For course completion, Ph.D. scholars need to earn 120 RD Credits in at least 3 years/ 6 semesters while the maximum duration allowed is 6 years/ 12 semesters. The university may consider granting a further extension of 2 semesters above the maximum time limit under special cases for the completion of the Ph.D. degree.

Candidates who have completed M.Phil. from CUHP, will be considered for lateral entry into Ph.D., provided they apply within three years of receiving the M. Phil. degree.

Eligibility

Ph.D. Applicants should have completed a post-graduation degree from a UGC-recognized university or either a professional degree declared equivalent to the post-graduation degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body or a foreign degree accredited by an authorized Assessment and Accreditation Agency.
They should have scored a minimum aggregate of 55% or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale in the qualifying examination.
Candidates who hold a regular Degree equivalent to M.Phil. from either an Indian or an accredited foreign institution will also be considered eligible to apply.
Candidates who have completed M.Phil.(Regular) course work with at least 55% aggregate score or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale, will be considered eligible to pursue research-work leading to Ph.D. Degree.
Sponsored candidates employed with a higher education institution/ govt. department/ PSU/ R&D Organization/ private industry with at least three years of experience and relieved on study leave to pursue Ph.D. are also eligible to apply.
Ph.D. applicants must have qualified either UGC-NET/CSIR/JRF/ICAR-NET/SLET/GATE/or the university conducted entrance test HPKVSPP.

Selection Criteria

Ph.D. applicants should accompany a 1000-word research proposal and two recommendation letters.
Candidates who score a minimum of 50% in the entrance test are called for Personal Interview.
Admission is based on a composite score taking together academic merit, admission test score, and personal interview performance, with weightage distributed at the rate of 40%, 30% and 30% respectively.

Central University of Haryana is better than Central University of Himachal Pradesh. Here are the pros and cons of joining Central University of Haryana.

Pros:

It has a residential campus with hostel accommodation.
The campus has high-speed wifi connection, including the hostels.
Faculty for PG courses are quite good as compared to Central University of Himachal Pradesh.
The lab facilities offered are adequate.
The location of the university is convenient as it is well-connected to Delhi via trains and buses.

Cons:

The administration is not that cooperative.
Since the selection procedure is not that difficult, the student crowd is not very competitive.
Food offered at the hostels is not good.
The transport facilities are also not that good.

This should give a brief idea about Central University of Haryana.

The quality of education at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh is quite good. The faculties are well-qualified and cooperative. The environment on campus is ideal for studies. Most of the alumni of the institute are well-settled in reputed PSUs. This institute is a great option if you want decent academics with minimal course fees. However, if you want to get more industrial exposure in your field, you will need to take the initiative by yourself.
