Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in the subject concerned with at least 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/differently abled candidates) from a University/Institute/Centre recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Admission Guidelines

Candidates shall be generally admitted through an Entrance Test followed by an interview.
Candidates who are qualified in NET/SET/GATE/M.Phil or any other national level test and Foreign Nationals with International/National fellowships like TWAS (Third world Academy of Science) shall be exempted from Entrance Test.
In response to the advertisement or notification of the university, candidates desirous of seeking admission to Ph.D. Coursework programme shall be required to submit applications on prescribed form (attached herewith). The application forms duly filled in along with supportive documents and the Entrance Test Fee (Rs. 200/-) should be submitted to the office of the Registrar by 31 March (post marked), 2016 ( Bankura University, Main Campus, Beside NH 60, Bankura Block II, P.O. Purandarpur, Dt. Bankura 722 155). Candidates employed in any institution are required to submit a No Objection Certificate from the respective institution at the time of admission to the Ph.D. Coursework Programme.
The Entrance Test will be conducted to assess the fundamental knowledge of the candidate. The candidates must score minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/ differently abled candidates) to qualify the Entrance Test. A list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared by the committee on the basis of the result of the Entrance Test. The successful candidates of the Entrance Test shall have to appear for an interview
