Is NMIMSs average salary really above INR 16 LPA?

According to the student’s reviews online, The average CTC (domestic) is INR 18.33 LPA. All the B-Schools of the country publish their placement reports based on CTC or cost to company numbers.

There is a huge difference between CTC and in-hand salary. So if your question was related to 16 lakhs CTC then it could be a possibility but if your question was related to 16 lakhs in hand salary then it might vary.

The average salary package may also vary depending on the company and your overall academic performance. Some companies offer students a 18-20 LPA salary package but they also have better grades. Whereas some Mass recruiting companies like TCS often give lots of job offers but with a lesser salary package.

NMIMS Hyderabad is a decent college for MBA, but it also depends on your goals and ambitions. It may not be one of the tier-1 colleges but is really good.

The placements here are top notch. Many reputed companies take part in their placement program.
Your overall academic performance will have an impact on your placement opportunities.
The campus is definitely no match for NMIMS Mumbai , but it is also not that bad.
The classes, the facilities and all are equivalent to any other average B-school.
The campus has all the basic facilities and updated machinery.
The student crowd is very competitive and diverse.
There are various clubs and committees teaching different skills. You can opt for them as it solidifies your CV.

I got 180 in NMAT. will I get NMIMS Hyderabad?

The cut-off required for NMIMS Hyderabad is around 220+ and if you have scored 180 marks in NMAT, then it will be very difficult for you to get admission in NMIMS Hyderabad.

But, if you don't want to attempt NMAT again, then you can apply for other colleges where NMAT scores are accepted such as Athena School of Management, IBS Mumbai.

Athena School of Management is a popular institute, located in Mumbai. The placements are very good. Students also get the chance to do multiple internships during the course duration. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered to the students is around 8 LPA. You will also be offered a scholarship worth more than lakhs if you have an academic record.

With a 180 NMAT score, the chance of getting admission at NMIMS Hyderabad is quite thin. Either you have to attempt the NMAT exam again or apply to other colleges that accept NMAT scores.

Is it worth going to NMIMS Hyderabad for MBA (with regard to ROI)? Is dropping this year and appearing for the CAT next year a better option?

NMIMS Mumbai is the best campus. It offers excellent placements. NMIMS Mumbai placements 2022 had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 57.65 LPA. If you can afford to drop a year, prepare rigorously for CAT and other entrances such as NMAT, XAT, IIFT, etc. It is the best option.

What are the chances of getting a call from NMIMS Mumbai or Hyderabad with 170 score & 2 years of work experience as well as a postgraduate degree in Commerce?

NMIMS Mumbai and Hyderabad are both on the high cut-off list due to their popular demand.

Looking at previous data from a few years back NMIMS Mumbai accepted students with scores of 190 and NMIMS Hyderabad accepted students with scores of 170.
But due to the heavy competition and demand of Mumbai and Hyderabad, the cut off has risen with time.
The previous year’s records state that the cut-off for NMIMS Mumbai was 207 to around 212.
The cutoff for NMIMS Hyderabad was around 190.

Both of the cut off exceed the score you have mentioned in the question. Moreover, NMIMS does not consider work experience if the score is below the cut-off. It only accepts work experience if they cleared the cut-off. It is kept as the second criteria.

Which college for MBA should I join- NMIMS Hyderabad, SCIT Pune or IBS Hyderabad?

I personally will recommend you join NMIMS rather than IBS Hyderabad. Some major reasons that support my recommendation are

NMIMS has a decent placement scenario.NMIMS Hyderabad is known for achieving a 100% placement record. The institute successfully conducted its placement drive for the 2019-21 batch. 100% of the participating students got placed. The final placement report for the 2019-21 batch has been released. According to the report, the highest CTC rose up to INR 15 LPA. Students received an average CTC of INR 9.59 LPA.

SCIT has released the final placement statistics for MBA ITBM and MBA DSDA batch 2020-22. The highest package offered to MBA ITBM students was INR 32.29 LPA and for MBA DSDA it was INR 32.21 LPA. The placement rate recorded for both courses was 100%. Over 30 companies participated in MBA ITBM placements and more than 25 companies were part of the MBA DSDA placement drive in 2022.

If you are interested in NMIMS Mumbai, you should know that it holds a great placement record, and students receive good salary packages during its placement drive every year. Among these three institutes, choosing NMIMS Hyderabad will be better. Despite being established recently, it became well-recognized in the industry.

The faculty base is one of the best in the country. It organizes a lot of guest lectures. Speakers from different industries provide insight into the latest happening in the industry.
The campus has many active clubs and committees.
In 2021 placement drive, they clocked an average of 9.59 LPA.
Few of the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive are Lido, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Deloitte, etc.

Is NMIMS's PGDM better in Bangalore or Hyderabad?

For a PGDM, your preference order for the NMIMS campus should be NMIMS Mumbai>NMIMS Bangalore>NMIMS Hyderabad. The Bangalore campus is best after the Mumbai campus, due to its locational advantages. You will get good job options, as it is the IT hub of the country. The Bangalore campus is also older than the Hyderabad campus.
