B.Tech. Computer Science is an engineering undergraduate course in computer sciences. Students who have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to pursue this course.

 It is a 4 year long course divided into 8 semesters, 2 semesters each year.  The admission process for this course is through entrance exams like JEE, CUSATCAT, TANCET, SET etc. The average tuition fee for this course is around 80,000 INR to 1.2 Lakh INR per semester.

A B.Tech. graduate in Computer Science can work in profiles such as Software Engineer, Testing Engineer, System Analyst and Technical Support Engineer. After passing out successfully, an individual can earn an average package of 2 Lakh INR to 4.5 Lakh INR.

Some of the major recruiters for B.Tech. Computer Science are software giants like Infosys, TCS and Accenture etc.

Duration

The minimum duration to finish the course is 4 years and maximum is 6-8 years. B.Tech. Computer Science is also available in distance learning mode and duration to complete the course from distance learning remains 4 years minimum to 8 years maximum.

The range of colleges/universities in choice often varies within Govt. funded and Private institutions. The top ranks are generally held by some of the IIT and a few Private institutes.

The course is also available in distance learning mode, where student doesn’t require going to college regularly and can still pursue the course. This option is common with people doing part-time jobs or housewives etc.

Candidate should have Passed 10+2 with Physics, Maths & (Chem./Bio./BioTech./Electronics/Computer) with Gen.-45% , SC/ST/OBC-40%.
